The Culinaria Mexicana publishing house has awarded Tintoque as one of the 120 best restaurants in Mexico in its “Guía de México Gastronómico 2019” being the only place in the city with such a distinctive award.
Tintoque seeks to be a cultural link that expresses the culinary journey of the passage of time in the bay, finding flavors and elements that mark each stage in the history of Puerto Vallarta.
Here we present a different proposal of creative cuisine based on the essence of regional recipes and ingredients, with the best product offered by the Mexican Pacific, materialized with the influence of the cuisines and trips that have marked the life of Vallartense Chef Joel Ornelas; who transmits an author’s kitchen that manages to be a true gastronomic experience for lovers of good food and all those who seek to refine their palate with unique experiences.
Joel Ornelas is the young chef behind Tintoque’s culinary identity.
Originally from Puerto Vallarta, he’s worked for some of the best gourmet restaurants in the city and for renowned international cuisine restaurants in Mexico, Spain and England.
At Tintoque, chef Ornelas offers a unique culinary experience by combining advanced techniques and applying his personal style, which includes contrasting textures with acidic and spicy elements, beautifully presented. He designs his dishes using fresh products found at local markets or provided by local farmers.
Tintoque is located at Plaza Neptuno, a shopping mall at the entrance of Marina Vallarta, one of the most vibrant neighborhoods that features some of the best restaurants to have dinner in Puerto Vallarta. Its close proximity to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and the Hotel Zone, makes Tintoque easy to spot and access—the iconic public sculpture “The Whale and its Calf” by artist Octavio González Gutiérrez is steps away from the restaurant.
